Content:

Approved by the Health and Safety Executive under the Health and Safety Regulations for successful candidates to act as  First Aiders
in their workplace.

This certificate is valid for three years and includes:

• Aims and principles of First Aid
• Prevention of cross infection
• Resuscitation
• CPR
• Management of the unconscious casualty
• Assessment and treatment of bleeding
• Common major and minor illnesses
• Assessment and treatment of shock
• Emergency transport of casualties
• Epilepsy
• Heart attack
• Angina
• Head injuries
• Effects of cold and heat
• Fractures

Duration

Three days with the assessment taking place at the end of the third day
